PrequelMemes

If you ask anyone in the street about their awareness of the Star Wars series' incredibility, you will certainly get an understanding nod in response. However, once you see the prequels the stories start to make a little less sense then they did before and that's without even getting into the fact that a Lightsaber was bestowed upon Luke that was once used to do some dark deeds. Let's be honest: Every line or frame in Starwars can be memed.

But no one can deny that Darth Sidious had some of the best lines in all of the movies. And what better way to pay homage to pretty much everything Star Wars than with an endless array of memes. The Star Wars franchise has always been a tremendous box office draw, and Star Wars Episode VII, The Force Awakens was no different in that regard.

However, when the movies started coming out, the sense of disappointment was one that almost every Star Wars fan shared at some point. Here are some memes that only Star Wars fans will understand. As the prequelmemes subreddit grew in popularity, Palpatine was gradually replaced as a mascot by Ewan McGregor akaJedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Even though Meme Darth Vader may have won the battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi in A New Hope, it would be the Jedi who win the war against the Sith Lord when a Jedi trained Luke came back to take down his father. Many Facebook pages contain the suffix "-core" presumably to both differentiate it as a meme site as well as making a reference to the Episode I character Boss Nass' delivery of the like "the planet core" (shown below).

Darth Vader is without a doubt one of the coolest cucumbers to ever set foot on Korriban and a lot of that dark side chic can be attributed to the incredible soundtrack that accompanied him everywhere he goes. Throughout the Star Wars movies, we are introduced to powerful villains like General Snoke, Darth Vader, The Emperor, Kylo Ren, and many more.

Breaking meme episodes started in 2010. Seemingly fans felt this was a betrayal to the character and Jedis. And as the world continues to freak out about the latest Star Wars film released last year, along with its undying love for the original films, it makes this May 4 even more special.
